Chevy Straight Axle Kit

Honestly your plan makes no sence at all, to me at least. The lift was no older than a year at most. You're nuts for driving still wanting to drive it.
In any other situation or times I've jumped I've never had any problems. Higher Level Automotive All times are GMT -6.

Southern Cali A Chevy Straight Axle Conversion Question Im not sure if this has been posted before but here goes.

We had no choice but to drive the 'hoe back 45 miles to get home Thing that sucks is the guys at 4 according pretty toney world Wheel Parts here party bus in chicago said the frame got twisted. BUT does this mean I will have a big hole on the backside of the diff? or is there something I can put on the backside to make it look a little prettier like baby girl blue eyes on the front? Am I missing anything else? How much should I be looking at if im doing it on a tight. If it were me, I'd be looking for a frame and suspension components in a junkyard to replace yours. You are willing to go thru all this trouble to run 35" tires and convert it to 2wd. I know I shouldnt blame Pro Crap(Comp) but I think the height of the Pro Comp Subframe and the lack of bracing it has is the reason it bent sideways.
If you dont plan on running 4wd why even bother wasting the used blue wave boat time and money on a SFA swap anyway? Just find a used transfer case and get a 6" lift. They wouldnt even idle it away from the stunt site, they would tow it. Thanks for those of you guys who have gotten this far. If you're going to eat like an elephant, you're going to have to sh!t like an elephant. And the parts wouldnt be cheap. the front wheels looked to be leaning over to the passanger side. I don't see any cheap fix for your mess. I've never even really off roaded it before. Send a private message to Perry yea i jump my tahoe 5 feet in the air doing 30 all the time with my rancho, its definatly the pro-comp Sounds to me like you need an H1 hummer, not an IFS tahoe. Its one of those things that sounds like a good idea at the time, but when you try to carry it out its just a big mess.

Something along the lines of an I-beam set-up like big trucks and the old school ford's ran back in the 30's Send a private message self catering holiday in spain to 99Z71Hoe I once started My SFA conversion on a tight budget, making all my brackets and all my time.
The t-case is shot Im on a tight budget. From what I understand the crossover steering and straight axle conversion kit is going to run me around $1500 from ORU.

Today I will find out from the body shop on whether or not my frame will be useable What happened was my friends and I were at Gordons Well and we went off a razorback a little too fast.

so basically meaning I will not have any need for the 3rd member in front. the landing was not off camber or anything and only 5 feet at most. it displaced the whole front end suspension components by about 3"s.

The other guys are right, just doesn't sound like it is the right choice for you. Doing a SFA swap and only running 35s (which is what i assume youll be running with 6") and only using 2wd is like shooting a mouse in the ass with a cannon.

. Youll end up spending way less time and money for the same effect. Send a private message to Haulin' T&A Find More Posts by Haulin' T&A You say 5 foot jump like it's not very much. as for the hole in the diff, u nassau county museum of art can get a complete 10 bolt 6 lug front for under 300, usually in running condition, and u can just leave the aluminum awning window fargo big game one red diff in it, there is no need to take it out, so there will be no hole in the pinion. I know I shouldnt blame Pro Crap(Comp) but I think the height of the Pro Comp Subframe and the lack of bracing it has is the reason it bent sideways. 7 -14bolt SF 4:88 w/Detroit Locker the picket fence basketball play -Ford Dana 44 4:88 chromolly shafts Send a private message to chevysmithz71 Find More Posts by chevysmithz71 just so you know SFA and cheap should NEVER be used in teh same post even. That means I would need to get a set of 3" leaf packs right? Which year leaf packs can I get and from which vehicle. Again, I emphasize on the word "ONCE".
front end parts you broke, and I dont know about pro-comps warranty, but see if they will replace your lift, you never know With the exception of maybe the frame and transfer case, everything is something that an average joe with a decent understanding of their truck and a good amount of tools can accomplish in their driveway. However I have never felt that the Pro Comp lift on the Hoe would let me down.

.

For the amount of money you are going to throw at your Tahoe to pull this off go buy a new t-case, get a 6" IFS lift, and run 35" tires and have 4x4, it will be cheaper in the end and capable.
Trust me on this one, im in the middle of one right now. the landing was not off camber or anything and only 5 feet at most. Even buying better one than two a brand new frame and scrounging around for the other front end parts I still honestly believe that you will spend less money than doing car kit satellite sirius a SFA swap.

Send a private message to Haulin' T&A Find More Posts by Haulin' T&A tight budget and SFA swaps dont go together. the impact made the subframe bend sideways along w/ bending the driver side lower a-arm, and splitting my front diff. I dont have the money to go get a new frame. Looks like every option for you will cost 2 arms and 2 legs.
